2014 KTM 250 XCF-W - KTM has announced its US-bound models for 2014 and the big news focuses on one model, the 250XCF-W. It (along with all the four-stroke XC-W and EXC models) gets a new, lighter frame. What the 250XCF-W alone gets, is an all-new engine. The DOHC motor has larger intake valves to match a larger piston. Yes, the piston diameter has increased 2.0mm, and the stroke has decreased 2.7mm. KTM claims a 10% increase in intake flow rate, and that piston that has grown in diameter has actually gotten lighter, which KTM claims results in quicker response. The bike also gets the DDS clutch and looks to be the leader in the orange brigade as far as changed models.

The 2014 KTM 250 XCF-W is a capable off roader packed with state of the art technologies. Like any KTM product the 250 XCF-W was built with agility in mind so every time you fire up its engine rewards you with a great riding experience.

Talking about the engine, the 2014 KTM XCF-W is equipped with a 1-cylinder 4-stroke, water-cooled unit with a displacement of 248.60 cm≥. The engine is brought to life by an electric starter and its power is kept under control by a modern transmission with multidisc clutch.

The list of good news continues with the super-agile chassis that features state-of-the-art WP suspension components. Needless to say that you also get a set of capable brakes that include front and rear disc brakes (260 mm front and 220 mm rear).

The 2014 KTM 250 XCF-W is offered with a starting price of $ 8,499.

Itís an unbelievable handling miracle. Itís been ridden to countless world titles! The KTM 250 XCF-W is an absolute success story. This bike builds up plenty of traction at the bottom of the rev range and pushes hard at the top. And the story continues in 2014! The new model excels with its super-agile chassis thanks to state-of-the-art WP suspension components and its powerful DOHC engine featuring electronic fuel injection. And by the way, the new model comes in new graphics with new dual-comp

The redesigned airbox on the ktm 250 xcf-w model year 2014 allows maximum air to pass through, but minimal dust and spray. Replacement of the twin-air filter takes approx. 15 seconds, without any tools. Absolutely "ready to race".

Alongside the very small, lightweight (only 8 g (0.28 oz)) cam followers with dlc (diamond-like carbon) coating, the dohc cylinder head is equipped with four ultra-light titanium valves, allowing very high engine speeds of up to 12,000 rpm. Compared with the sx-f power unit, the camshafts are designed less for maximum power and more enduro-specific for a broad usable rev range.
